Test Shoot Footage

Some random assorted clips from our test shoot showing off a couple of angles we'll consider using again.

Group Meeting

A group meeting is now scheduled for P4+5 on Monday, onto lunch if needed.
We should:
Decide a final time for the test shoot
Finalise Test Shoot priorities and compile a list of shots to practice
Go over final shot list
Finalise costume

If anything else comes to mind, we will add it to this post in retrospect.

Test Shoot

We have decided to have another test shoot with the whole band, either in our school's great hall or drama block. We need to arrange a time and day according to when these locations are free and then we'll use our time to practice all our shots and the general look and feel of the band, and how their performance will be staged.

I'll update this post with the planned time when we've decided.

GROUP MEETING

Okay in order to have some sort of progress there will be a group meeting period 4 and 5 going in to lunch. If you are in school you need to attend as there is group decisions to be made, if not me and Nick will make them.

A TO'DO List

Due to the recent staleness of the group me and Nick have decided to do a to-do list!
We have put the list in order of priority (bold means done)

1. Decide on date of main shoot and re-shoot
2. Costume/band image

3. Test shoot arrangements (with actors?)
4. Shot List
5. Shooting schedule
6. Storyboarding
7. Prop list
8. Discussion on shooting

9. Responsibilities on shoot

If you can think of any more things to-do then add them to the list!

Marketing Campaign for Epic Journeys

The band Epic Journeys are looking to emulate the internet based success of the Arctic Monkeys and Lily Allen. From our research we have discovered both artists were originally based on internet sites (social networks) like myspace. However, Lily Allen has chosen to move towards a more credible way of advertising herself. She has started appearing on more reputable TV shows like Jonathan Ross and using a Twitter feed to let her fans know of her daily activities. She even had her own TV chat show for a while. The Arctic Monkeys are still heavily internet based using myspace and facebook to advertise their band and most of their other coverage being through magazines.

The appeal of myspace is the easy networking with fans, with the ability to upload music, videos, blogs as well as having tour listings and general info about the artist. This is now easy to do on facebook as well so most bands use both to get the best of both social networking audiences.

Our advertising campaign will incorporate mainly the converged media of gaming. We hope to get Epic Journey on the map through the use of their new hit single "World's Away" as the title track of the new action-adventure game Lego Indiana Jones 2 (tying in with the bands theme) and also on the new Fifa game to apply to a broader audience (here we have incorporated, gamers, children and sportsmen). Also the band will have a game on their myspace which when played will unlock various portions of the new album, giving the audience an exclusive listen to previously unreleased material. This is similar to the marketing campaign of MUSE for their recent single "United States of Eurasia" where portions of the song were hidden on USB sticks around the globe. The game will be a platformer where you travel through infinite locations, as the band do themselves in their new music video.

Another marketing strategy is a team up with Virgin Atlantic. As the band are heavily travel based, their song will be used for the company's new holiday adverts where they will promise to take you "World's Away". This will give publicity to the band and a long term partnership with a really really rich guy.

These marketing strategies will help advertise the bands image, music and myspce to gather a fan base worldwide.
